JOE & THE JUICE is looking for a creative, results-driven leader to shape and drive our global music strategy. Reporting to the COO, this role will define the music experience in all stores- curating playlists, overseeing top-tier equipment, and building a vibrant music community that celebrates talent and fosters brand engagement.

As the operational lead, you'll ensure consistency and innovation in how music enhances every store’s atmosphere - day and night. From sourcing music to building industry collaborations, you'll make music a core part of our identity, setting a new standard in F&B.

We’re seeking a strategic thinker with deep music industry knowledge and a hands-on approach, ready to bring energy, culture, and creativity into every JOE & THE JUICE location.

Key Responsibilities:

Music Playlists:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive music operational strategy that aligns with the company’s overall objectives.
  • Build a Global Music Framework to encompass different music genres that resonates and inspires our guests across different day-parts / days of the week, and across our different store-type classifications. Capture local and cultural nuances in music taste while establishing classic tunes that celebrates our Joe heritage and passion for House music.
  • Ensures royalties are recorded, monitored, and paid on time to relevant third parties.

Music Equipment:

  • Work with key functions and suppliers to source and implement a music system that builds music into the heart of our store environment – leveraging sound engineering expertise to create our unique store ambience.
  • Create and maintain a Music Equipment Framework to ensure speakers are placed in the right location and sound zones are built to balance the right audio output, music equipment is housed and located in an appropriate location in stores, and controls are in place and monitored to ensure there is no diversion to our playlist policies.
  • Works with Construction and Facilities Management teams to review CAPEX spend for installation and maintenance of all music equipment across all company-operated markets.

Music Training:

  • Partners with the Operations and Training teams to build a specific music training programme for our operations leaders to understand the dynamics of music playlists - selecting the right tracks and playlists to play at the right time, creating our aural ambiance as part of the in-store Joe experience, and inspiring Juicers to share their passion for music.

Music Community:

  • Enable aspiring Juicer producers, musicians, DJs, and anyone passionate about music to share their stories, music, ideas, and be part of our Joe Playlists creation.
  • Work with the Culture team to leverage our Juicer App and Juicerwear to showcase the very best of our music talent.
  • Work with industry leaders to provide exclusive content and competitions. Build and continuously improve he to host DJs at key store openings and Events.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Works closely with key departments such as Global Operations, IT, Marketing & Product Development, Retail, and Finance, to ensure that all music initiatives are supported and aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Partners with all MDs to consolidate feedback, establishing a strong working partnership across all regions, including Franchising.

KPI Management:

  • Set clear operational targets and monitor performance through KPIs. Regularly report on operational performance to the COO, identifying areas for improvement and driving accountability across the organization.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Set and manage assigned budgets effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to support the company’s strategic goals.
  • Optimize the use of capital in areas such as store refurbishments, equipment upgrades, and training initiatives.

Key Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years in leadership roles within a multi-unit music environment, with a proven track record of understanding the global impact and nuances of music and how it relates to a commercial environment.
  • Experience navigating large, cross-functional teams and overseeing complex initiatives to deliver assigned projects and activities.
  • Solid network within the music industry and understanding of music trends, with experience of selecting and sourcing equipment that enhances the customer experience.

Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and drive teams across a global environment and across different levels.
  • Proficiency in project management and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously - agile and flexible to meet changing priorities.
  • Unwavering passion for music.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is advantageous but not required.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of adaptability.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions, embracing AI to support scalability.
  • The COO may defer decisions and actions to the Senior Manager - Global Music to ensure seamless progress in business performance.
